Privacy Policy

WireDraft is a browser-based tool for marking up electrical blueprints. We designed it to keep your work private. This policy explains what data is handled, and where.

Your projects stay on your device

Blueprints, symbols, and annotations you create are saved to your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). They never leave your device and are never uploaded to our servers. We cannot see, recover, or access your saved projects.

Feedback you send us

When you send feedback through the "Feedback" link, we collect the message you write and, optionally, your email address. Email is optional so you can stay anonymous; if you include it, we use it only to reply to you. Feedback is processed by Formspree, our form provider. See Formspree's privacy policy for how they handle submissions.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, so we can improve it. It records which pages are viewed, which actions you take in the editor (such as uploading a blueprint, exporting a marked-up plan, or saving a backup), how visitors arrived, general device and browser information, and an approximate location derived from the IP address. It does not see the contents of your blueprints, symbols, or annotations. Google acts as our analytics provider and processes this data on our behalf.

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to distinguish sessions and visitors. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, and you can install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. What we do not do

We do not require an account to use WireDraft. We do not sell or share personal information, we do not run advertising, and we do not use your projects for any purpose. We never receive the contents of your blueprints.

Cookies and local storage

WireDraft uses browser local storage (IndexedDB) to save your projects on your device. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) for the usage measurement described above. We do not use cookies for advertising.

Data retention

Your projects remain stored on your device until you clear your browser's site data or delete them in the app. Feedback submissions are retained for as long as needed to respond. Analytics data is retained by Google according to your Google Analytics data-retention setting.

Children

WireDraft is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the changelog.
