The electrical symbols guide and the how-to guide are available in Español, matching the Spanish app and home page.

WireDraft now speaks Spanish

The app is now available in Español. It picks your browser's language automatically, and you can switch anytime from the dropdown on the home screen or the toolbar. Every label, button, and all 39 symbol names are translated, including the symbol key on your exported PNG.

Measuring how the app is used

We now measure a few in-app actions (uploading a blueprint, exporting a plan, saving or restoring a backup, and sending feedback) to understand how people use the editor. This is still anonymous usage data; your blueprints and projects never leave your device. See the privacy policy.

New guides: electrical symbols, and how to mark up a plan

Added an electrical symbols guide covering every symbol in WireDraft and what each one means on a plan.

Added a step-by-step guide to marking up an electrical blueprint, from loading the plan through exporting the finished drawing.

Updated the privacy policy to disclose that we use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used. Your blueprints and projects still never leave your device.

Color your symbols, and 12 new ones

Give any symbol, line, or note its own color so you can color-code circuits at a glance. Choose a color in the palette to set what new symbols use, or select something already placed and change it in the Properties panel.

• New symbols: occupancy sensor, track lighting, under-cabinet light, emergency / exit light, wall pack, photocell, equipment disconnect, motor, garbage disposal, dishwasher, water heater, and floor outlet.

Legend on export, plus a version stamp

Exported PNGs now include a legend at the bottom showing the symbols used in that drawing, so whoever receives the print can read it. The toolbar also shows the current version (beta).

27 electrical symbols, with standard labels

Added 10 new symbols and labeled the switches and outlets the way they read on real plans.

• New symbols: 4-way switch, CO detector, bath exhaust fan, phone jack, dryer outlet, range outlet, EV charger, coax / TV outlet, wall sconce, and flood light.
• Clearer labels: switches now show S3 and S4 (3-way and 4-way), GFCI and 240V outlets are labeled, and CO / EV / CATV are marked.

Backup and Restore, in plain words

Renamed the old "Export / Import JSON" to Backup and Restore so it's obvious what it does. The backup file is self-contained (your blueprint is saved inside it), so you don't need the PNG separately.

Privacy policy and feedback

Published a privacy policy and added an in-app Feedback form. Your projects stay on your device; nothing is uploaded.

Works on tablets and phones

Added touch support: collapsible side panels, pinch to zoom, and drag to pan on touch screens.

Crop your blueprint on import

Crop the plan to the area you need when you upload it, and fade the background so your markings stand out.
